these early as quickly as

Following the formation of Earth, about 4.6 billion years ago, these clay-rich primeval soils developed across our young planet. But conditions were harsh: frequent and massive meteor impacts would have melted and pulverised large volumes of these early as quickly as they formed.

Almost from the moment of its origin, life began to influence – and be influenced by – soil reenex

"There is debate about whether the whole surface of the Earth was melted,” explains Gregory Retallack, an expert in ancient soils from the University of Oregon in Eugene, US. He supports the theory that no more than half of Earth was molten at any one time.

Around 3.8 billion years ago, conditions on Earth began to stabilise. The constant meteorite bombardment that had made the planet an inferno until that point began to subside, and liquid water could condense, forming lakes and seas. This marked an important point in the soil story. The liquid water weathered and eroded Earth’s rocky crust, generating mineral matter and forming more permanent soils reenex.

The first life on Earth probably appeared a little later, about 3.5 billion years ago; some of the earliest evidence comes from fossilised structures that formed on rocky shores and resemble microbial mats called stromatolites, which are still found on Earth today.

Almost from the moment of its origin, life began to influence – and be influenced by – soil. For instance, those first microbial mats were built up from photosynthetic organisms, which could produce huge volumes of organic material using energy from the sun. This organic matter gradually built up on the shoreline, where it mixed with the minerals freed up by eroding rock to create what was arguably the first true soil reenex.

start of legal cannabis sales

Uruguayan President Jose Mujica has said the start of legal cannabis sales will be delayed until next year due to "practical difficulties".

Sales in state-owned pharmacies were due to begin as early as November.

But in an interview with the AFP news agency, Mr Mujica said government-produced marijuana could end up in the illegal market if implementation of the law was rushed.向日葵纖體美容

The United Nations has criticised the law, saying it posed a health danger.

"If we want to get this right we are going to have to do it slowly," Mr Mujica told AFP.

"We are not just going to say, 'hands off and let the market take care of it,' because if the market is in charge, it is going to seek to sell the greatest possible amount," he added.

Uruguay has become the first country to make it legal to grow, sell and consume marijuana.

The legislation was approved by the Uruguayan Congress in December and came into force in May.

Regulation was expected by the end of this year.

Licensed pharmacies will sell the drug for less than $1 a gramme, with consumers allowed 40g a month.

The bill specifies that each household may grow up to six cannabis plants, and that marijuana may be consumed in the same places as tobacco向日葵纖體美容.

Uruguay's government hopes the bill will help tackle drug cartels, but critics say it will expose more people to health risks and other drugs.

Mr Mujica, a former member of the Tupamaros left-wing rebel group in the 1960s and 1970s, has introduced a number of liberal measures since being elected in 2009.

He will leave office at the end of his term next March.向日葵纖體美容

remains arrested in her death

The remains of a Fort Bragg soldier who disappeared more than two years ago may have been found and a suspect has been arrested in her death, police in North Carolina said Wednesday.

Detectives went Wednesday to an area near the Interstate 295 corridor on the northern side of Fayetteville after receiving information, city police spokesman Lt. Todd Joyce said. The search turned up remains believed to be those of Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux.

Authorities said Bordeaux left her apartment on April 13, 2012, and headed to a nearby bar.

The remains will be sent to the chief medical examiner's office to confirm the identity.

Joyce said 27-year-old Nicholas Michael Holbert has been arrested and will be charged with first-degree murder and may face additional charges tom ford sunglasses sale.

Fayetteville Police Chief Harold Medlock said at a news conference that Holbert had been a person of interest in the case since Bordeaux disappeared Ergonomic Chair.

Bordeaux was 23 when she was last seen on the early morning of April 14, 2012, at Froggy Bottoms bar in Fayetteville, where she had gone to sing karaoke. At the time, police believed she left the bar with a man she met there the week before, a person identified as a registered sex offender. She was reported missing two days later when she didn't report to work bvi company in hong kong.

The man, who Joyce identified as Holbert, said he dropped off Bordeaux at the entrance to the apartment complex where she lived with her husband, who was in Florida visiting family that weekend.

Holbert was jailed because he did not live at the address he gave authorities, as a registered sex offender is required to do, but he said at the time he had nothing to do with her disappearance.

According to The Fayetteville Observer, police learned two text messages were sent from Bordeaux's phone after she left the bar, including one that said she had arrived home. Police said early in the investigation that they didn't believe Bordeaux sent that one.

Volunteers gathered repeatedly in the weeks and months following Bordeaux's disappearance to conduct searches. Fort Bragg and Fayetteville officials had offered a $25,000 reward for information regarding her whereabouts.

It was nearly a year ago this month that the U.S. Army declared Bordeaux dead. That move allowed her family to receive military death benefits.

Bordeaux, a Florida native, was assigned to the 601st Area Support Medical Company, 44th Medical Brigade and served as a combat medic.

"She and her family have remained close in our hearts since Kelli last stood in our formation in April 2012," said Lt. Col. Heather A. Kness, commander of the 261st Multifunctional Medical Battalion in which Bordeaux's served. "We honor her memory and will always remember her vibrant spirit, her love of life and her loyal and dedicated service to our Army and nation as a combat medic."

Everyone wants their boss to play fair, but new research suggests that while doing so might make employees happy, it's not always so great for the boss. Specifically, bosses who are fair make their workers happier and their companies more productive, but in the end may burn themselves out, according to a new study led by Michigan State University's Russell Johnson.online matching

Researchers found that the act of carefully monitoring the fairness of workplace decisions wears down supervisors both mentally and emotionally.Online Dating

Johnson, an assistant professor of management, said that managers face a double-edged sword in maintaining structured, rule-bound fairness, known as procedural justice.reenex

While beneficial for their employees and the organization, it's an especially draining activity for managers," he said. "In fact, we found it had negative effects for managers that spilled over to the next workday."As part of the study, researchers surveyed 82 bosses twice a day for a few weeks. Managers who reported mental fatigue from situations involving procedural fairness were less cooperative and less socially engaging with other workers the next day."Managers who are mentally fatigued are more prone to making mistakes, and it is more difficult for them to control deviant or counterproductive impulses," Johnson said.reenex
